What happens at a heart check?

It starts by talking about how you feel, what you eat, how much exercise you get and about your home and work life. Then it's all about having your pulse measured, listening to your breathing and measuring your body.

I have a few questions

What it will cost? Less than what you think. In some cases it is FREE. Contact your doctor, practice nurse, workplace nurse to see where you can get your heart checked.
How long will it take? About 30 minutes
Who will do it? The nurse, the Doctor or a community health worker.
Will it hurt? No.
Do I have to take my clothes off ? No.
Will I have to sit on some scales? No.
Will I have to do some exercise? No.

Call your local Hauora provider and ask them about a FREE heart checks taking place in your community.
